VGCOM, the total marketing communications group that brought to fore since 2006 the hottest motoring event of the Yuletide season, “Heat Wave in December”; is introducing another milestone event. With the G-Strip Parking1  of the Greenhills Shopping Center as a fitting venue, they are pleased to present “Auto Mash ’09 – Car Show and Auto Sound Challenge”, slated for August 1, 2009. The Powerade Team Pilipinas strut their wares for the Williams Jones Cup 2009 Invitational Basketball competition in Taipei, Taiwan, July 19-26, which serves as the final stage of the Nationals’ preparation for the Fiba-Asia championship set Aug. 6-16 in Tianjin, China. Watch the games "Live" on [cable TV] ESPN starting at 3PM, the telecast is co-sponsored by Outlast Batteries.

The Nationals' Jones Cup stint will also be used by national coach Yeng Guiao and his staff as the final basis for the selection of the 12 players composing the team for the Tianjin Asian qualifier. The Philippines was Jones Cup Champion in 1981, 1985 and 1998.

AAP Motorsports Awards set Feb. 27

The country's top race car drivers will receive awards on February 27, 2009 from the Automobile Association Philippines [AAP] during the 14th Annual Motorsports Awards at the Valle Verde Country Club, Pasig City. Registration starts at 6:00 pm.

AAP motorsports committee chair Mandy Eduque announced that top drivers from six motorsports disciplines -- karting, 4x4 off road, drag racing, slalom, hill climbing and touring -- will receive Driver of the Year Awards. A total of 13 race car drivers will also receive class championship awards. Outlast Battery is a proud sponsor of this event.

Since AAP is the only Philippine affiliate of the Federation internationale de l'Automible [FIA], the Paris-based organization that governs motorsports worldwide, it is the only association authorized by the FIA to issue racing licenses and sanction motorsports nationwide.
 

The boxing event of the season dubbed as “The War”, top bills Australian Michael “The Great” Katsidis who will slug it out with Argentina’s Angel “El Tren” Ramirez in the main event. However, Pinoy spectators are also setting their eyes on the next Pinoy Boxing Superstars -- Anthony "Rocky" Marcial, "Marvelous" Marvin Sonsona and Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales who are pitted against international opponents in the undercard.

This international fight card will be held Jan. 31, 2009 at the Cebu Coliseum. The fights start at 5 pm and the main event will be at 7 pm as it will be aired 9:PM over Studio 23 and 9:AM on Sunday over ABS-CBN. The TV event is brought to you in part by Outlast Battery.

Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International will be presenting a different kind of car show entitled
“Carshow and Technology Nights” this January 30 to February 1, 2009 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The event featured cars and car clubs, and highlighted various automotive technologies and innovations, car products and services including a technology and science fair plus various other activities.
